Job Title: Instructional Design & Quality Assurance Specialist (K5)
Location: Remote (Global Contractor, Hourly)

Position Overview MGT is seeking a skilled Instructional Design & Quality Assurance Specialist to support the development and final production of high-quality instructional materials.
This role combines instructional design expertise, copy editing precision, and production-level quality assurance. The ideal candidate has experience working with education publishers, a strong command of grammar and style (Chicago Manual of Style), and a deep understanding of curriculum structure and learner-centered design principles.
This is an individual contributor role that requires close collaboration with writers, curriculum developers, and production designers. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and consistently delivers error-free, publisher-ready content.
Key Responsibilities 1. Instructional Design & Product Development -
Develop and refine visual frameworks to enhance accessibility, usability, and overall learning experience.

Provide input on visual hierarchy, layout, and learner-centered design strategies.

Ensure instructional materials align with pedagogical best practices and product standards.

Contribute to continuous improvement of instructional products through a design-quality lens.
2. Copy Editing & Editorial Review -
Edit content for grammar, clarity, tone, and consistency as per copyediting standards.

Apply MGT and client-specific style guides and branding guidelines consistently.

Ensure all materials are error-free, well-structured, and easy to understand.

Maintain consistency across large content sets (terminology, headings, formatting, instructions).

Identify and flag inconsistencies, unclear language, and structural issues.
3. Quality Assurance & Production Review -
Perform detailed QA reviews of final drafts to ensure alignment with templates and design specifications.

Conduct spot checks for formatting, styling, and content accuracy.

Review design outputs for both visual and textual accuracy before final delivery.

Manage tight deadlines while maintaining high accuracy and quality standards.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements -
3+ years of experience in instructional design, educational product design, graphic design, or a related field.

Exceptional English language proficiency.

Proven ability to edit quickly and accurately in fast-paced environments.

Strong attention to detail with a focus on error-free deliverables.

Proficiency in tools such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, Google Workspace, Microsoft Word & PowerPoint, and PDF markup tools.

Ability to pass a copyediting assessment.
Preferred Experience -
Experience in secondary mathematics instruction.

Background in curriculum development or educational publishing.

Experience editing instructional or curriculum materials.

Knowledge of accessibility standards in educational design.

Familiarity with style guides, editorial workflows, and version-controlled documents.

Experience working with external production or design vendors.
