We are starting a YouTube channel about travel. For the past few months, we’ve been deep in research and concept development, and now we’re ready to begin the search for a freelancer (or freelancers) to help with video editing.
Here’s the core concept:
We want to create long-form videos, about 10 minutes long, that are essentially comprised of a series of YouTube Shorts. Each video will have an intro and a conclusion, of course, but also several sections (chapters) that we want created as Shorts while still fitting into a larger narrative.
Here’s an example: Let’s say we’re discussing things to do in Paris, France. One chapter may be on food, one chapter may be on attractions, and another on places to stay. Each of those chapters would be a standalone Short and would still work when combined into a longer-form video.
We like to think of it as the opposite of how most go about YouTube. Instead of pulling Shorts from long-form video, we want to create Shorts that fit into a larger narrative.
About the channel:
It is a faceless YouTube channel dedicated to travel. We are prohibiting the use of AI-generated video, so we need to source video and imagery that is Creative Commons or directly from the brands or properties we may be discussing.
We will provide a script, voiceover, any notes we have for video editing, and background music.
Here is who we’re looking for:
We need a video editor (or editors) who can quickly produce great content. We want videos to be engaging, have text-on-screen at specific moments, and support the well-researched concepts and scripts we provide. As mentioned above, each chapter should be its own Short but will also fit within the larger narrative for a long-form video.
If you’re interested, please do reach out so we can start the conversation!
