The Materials Associate aids in the routine procurement, retrieval, acceptance, distribution, and restocking of resources to fulfill the requirements of both the department and patients. Additionally, this position contributes to inventory auditing, accurately inputting inventory information, and monitoring inventory expiration dates to ensure its currency and suitability within the department. The working hours for this role are from Monday to Friday, starting at 8 am and concluding at 5 pm.
Responsibilities
Supports is provided in the acceptance, validation, and inputting of receipts related to various shipments.
Verifies receiving incoming supplies, processing outgoing shipments, inputting data, and replenishing stocks within designated deadlines as assigned to fulfill department and patient requirements.
Assists in speeding up the process of delivering items to their designated destinations or storage areas. Regularly reviews and manages optimum inventory levels, modifying inventory forms and tags when needed according to regulations.
Facilitates the collection of signatures for deliveries and records explanations for unsuccessful deliveries. Manages inventory precision, counts cycles regularly, and oversees electronic restocking of supplies.
Assists in ensuring that the workspace is safe, equipment is properly fastened, and clutter is eliminated from the area.
Assists in the collection and transportation of linens in accordance with departmental and infection control protocols for both clean and soiled carts as designated. Provides ongoing help with organizing and dispersing clean and dirty linens to maintain sufficient levels for daily operational needs.
Follows Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines outlined in department protocols and Infection Prevention standards.
Compliance with the environmental and infection control regulations set by OSHA, JCAHO, and other regulatory bodies is maintained.
Carries out additional tasks as required.
