Wesley Hospital is seeking a dedicated Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join their Pediatric Units. This role involves providing comprehensive medical care for pediatric patients, collaborating closely with pediatric faculty and resident teams. The APRN will be instrumental in patient assessment, care plan development, and communication with families and referring physicians, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.

Practice Info

  • Work in conjunction with the Pediatric faculty
  • Provide medical care for pediatric patients in Wesley Hospital Pediatric Units
  • Possible coverage to Pediatric Faculty Clinic

Responsibilities

  • Carry out delegated medical processes and procedures with immediate physician availability, performing independent life-saving procedures during emergencies.
  • Perform all medical chart documentation with physician oversight and complete billing and medical records documentation within thirty business days.
  • Collaborate with the supervising physician to discuss and review the hospital course and plan of care for each patient.
  • Participate in daily formal presentations of patient problems, evaluation, and plan of care with the attending pediatrician and resident team.
  • Obtain necessary patient history, perform admission physical examinations, and initiate/complete all necessary forms for documentation and care facilitation.
  • Formulate patient care diagnoses and goals, develop care plans in collaboration with the attending physician, and order/interpret diagnostic data.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as vein/artery puncture and lumbar puncture, and initiate/direct respiratory system support.
  • Establish and maintain contact with families, communicating patient problems, status, and plans, and initiate discharge planning.

Requirements

  • BSN - Preferred
  • Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner - Master's Degree and/or Certificate training (Masters preferred)
  • Two to four years pediatric experience preferred
  • Ability to adapt to EMR functions
  • Electronic patient charting
  • Basic Microsoft skills
  • RN - Active in the state of Kansas
  • APRN - Active in the state of Kansas
