Overview:

We are looking for a creative, self-motivated Virtual Assistant with strong communication skills and experience using AI tools like ChatGPT. This role blends digital content creation, community engagement, and administrative support. If you're organized, resourceful, and excited to support a growing local media platform that uplifts the South Bay community, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Management

Research, curate, and update existing blog posts for accuracy, SEO, and clarity

Create new blog content using ChatGPT as a research assistant (must be able to fact-check and quality control the output)

Upload and optimize posts in WordPress, including formatting, images, and metadata

Community Calendar & Event Support

Research local South Bay events and update the online community calendar

Design flyers and simple graphics in Canva to promote events and initiatives

Communications & Outreach

Handle general email communications (inquiries, sales, partner outreach, etc.)

Set up and manage contests and automations using ManyChat

Social Media Engagement

Monitor and engage with the community across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok

Contribute creative ideas for content and interactive campaigns

Schedule Engagement Posts

Operations & Systems

Assist in developing internal systems and workflows to improve efficiency

Track tasks and deadlines across various projects

Manage Google Drive, content calendars and projects so team stays organized

What You’ll Need:

Proven experience using ChatGPT and similar tools for research and content generation

Strong research and written communication skills

Working knowledge of Google Docs, WordPress, ManyChat, Click-up, Zapier, Whatsapp Broadcast and Canva

Experience managing ManyChat and basic automation tools (or willingness to learn)

Strong English fluency and excellent grammar

A creative mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work independently

Must be a self-starter who is motivated, organized, and driven to produce high-quality work

Bonus Points If You:

Are familiar with the South Bay of Los Angeles

Have experience in local journalism, digital marketing, or community outreach

Have worked with small businesses or nonprofit organizations
